598 Pounds of Canned Food!
Throughout the month of December 2020, we hosted our annual Canned Food Drive – and we want to give a big thank you to everyone who participated in donating for those in need! What an incredible turn out!! As of 1/6/2021, our donations were given to St. Vincent de Paul of Arizona, to serve the community around us.
We also have to give a special shout out to the Denise P. and family, who, on the very last day, blew the entire staff away by bringing in over 200 pounds of canned foods! (We think it was around 180 cans? But honestly we lost count). Thank you for going the extra mile in making our food drive such a wonderful success this year!
We all know that 2020 was somewhat of a rotten year, to say the least. I don’t think a single person out there has not been affected by the events in the world around us. Our goal this holiday season was to not only help ease the burdens of others by donating to those in need, but also to lighten our own burdens. There is no better cure for feeling down, hurt, or sad than to try to be part of a solution, to try to spread kindness and joy. We are thrilled that so many of our patients did join with us in spreading some kindness!
It is our hope for 2021 to go into the year with that same kindness. May we all keep the spirit of kindness and giving in our hearts all year long – and maybe, just maybe, this will help ensure that our year is better, brighter, and more hopeful than the one we leave behind.
